Born in the early Soviet republic of Kygystan, 39-year-old Talantbek Chekirov has an appreciation for the natural beauty found in women. Using oil as his medium, Chekirov’s creates photorealistic works of art that are soft and sensual. He paints shadows and brightness in such a way that makes his figures glow, giving us an appreciation not just for the female form but for an artistic skill few have been able to master.

Kalie Garrett is a 19-year-old photographer who takes such vulnerable self-portraits, you can’t assist but get emotional when you look at them. Rather than describe them myself, here are some touching testimonials left over on her Flickr page:

Majestic Storytelling Illustrations

Israeli-born illustrator Tomer Hanuka creates fantastically interesting scenes. His stories are told not just by the expressions on his characters’ faces but by the beautiful colours he chooses and the mysterious shadows he casts. His mania for drawing emerged at a young age, when he fell in love with American comic books. He found them “mystical and majestic, an unreachable light in a faraway land, and more beautiful and exciting than anything around.”
