Street Dancers Of Russia

When you’re walking along a busy street, it’s not so easy to figure out a person’s profession. Although, photographer Vitaly Sokolovsky’s photo series entitled Dance-Petersburg certainly makes it easier to pick the dancers out of a crowd. Similar to Jordan Matter’s Dancer’s Among Us project in New York City, Sokolovsky captures the acrobatic movements of dancers in plain clothing, performing everyday tasks.

Harry Potter’s Magical World Comes To Life

There is no doubting the impact J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series has amongst its fans, both children and adults alike. Though the films have now been completed, the magic of Harry’s world still lives on today. Next year in the spring 2012, Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden, England (where they held the production for the films for the past 10 years) will open its doors to the public. Just think, this time next year you could be walking around the 150,000 square foot premises of the famous Harry Potter films!

The backstage tours will feature the sets of Hogwarts’ Great Hall, Dumbledore’s office, Gryffindor’s common room and Hagrid’s hut. The special effects tour even includes a look into the animatronics used in the Creature Effects workshop, which feature Buckbeak the Hippogriff, Aragog the giant spider, Fawkes the phoenix and the horrifying Basilisk head.

Multidirectional Faces Illusion

Using his Samsung L100 digital camera and Photoshop, Venezuela-based student Jesús González Rodríguez mixed layers to create some of the trippiest face illusions we’ve seen in a very long time. In fact, not since Ulric Colette’s Genetic Portraits have we been this taken aback by photo manipulated faces.

Simply titled 1/2, the photos ask you to look both straight on and to the side (or for the last picture – top down). By using a blank white wall for the background and by cutting his subjects down in just the right shape, Rodríguez makes us (almost) believe in magic…
